An area manager will attend the site to assess any potential risk areas. He/ She will, depending on his/ her findings, ensure that the operative:

• Is aware of the escape routes in the event of fire.
• Is competent in the use of plant and materials and aware of their potential dangers.
• Knows to report any defective equipment and instructed in their safe storage.
• Knows to display floor warning signs when wet mopping. Colour coding on mops to be implemented for designated area.
• Deploys any cables from electrical equipment in such a way that they cannot be a danger to other members of staff.
• Reports any breakages or personal injuries to the client’s representative in the first instance and ensure any incidents are recorded.
